Kofi Annan was the outstanding international public servant of his generation who reformed the United Nations (UN) system and put development at its heart. His greatest legacy, however, may yet turn out to be his championing of Africa’s ‘Green Revolution’ and his focus on the need to deliver to the poorest of the poor in Africa through a renewed focus on Agriculture and a sustainable response to climate change and meeting the continent's renewable energy needs. The Africa Enterprise Challenge Fund (AECF) continues to draw inspiration from his insights, mourns his passing and extends its deepest condolences to his family.
A great son of Ghana and of Africa has left us but the lessons of his life remain.
Hamba Kahle ! Go Well! Kofi Annan."
Lord Paul Boateng,
