Victoria Sabula joins The AECF as the Interim Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to provide leadership and guidance in the implementation of The AECF strategy that seeks to enhance a prosperous and enterprising rural Africa.
Prior to joining The AECF, Victoria served as AGRA’s General Counsel and Corporation Secretary providing strategic oversight on legal advisory, compliance, risk management and governance for AGRA’s programmatic activities across sub-Sahara Africa. During her time at AGRA she actively managed the transition of The AECF from a project within AGRA to an independent subsidiary. Due to her involvement in the transition she has intimate knowledge of the operations of The AECF.
Starting her career with KCB Bank Group, she has extensive experience structuring and negotiating corporate finance transactions, drafting and negotiation of complex contractual agreements, and advising on governance and multi-country regulatory compliance matters. Victoria holds a Bachelor of Law (LL.B) Degree from Moi University, a post Graduate Diploma in Law from Kenya School of Law, a diploma in Human Resource Management from Kenya Institute of Management, and a Masters in Business Administration from Nazarene University.
Victoria is passionate about innovative finance and believes in the potential it has to transform the lives of Africa’s rural communities.
Pauline W. Mbayah is Director, Strategy and Partneship at The AECF where she oversees efforts to establish, deepen and strengthen relationships with donors and partners to broaden The AECF’s impact and reach.
Pauline has a solid understanding of private sector and international development gained through over twenty years of experience. She has worked with government, international and local development actors such as United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and has implemented programmes funded by the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the African Development Bank (AfDB) among others. While at UNIDO, Pauline received an Industrial Sustainability Award as the Manager of a Manufacturing Centre of Excellence. Prior to joining AECF, Pauline was Director, Business Development at African Management Services Company (AMSCO) where she managed the African Training and Management Services (ATMS) Foundation.
Pauline is a seasoned resource mobilizer, business development professional as well as a fund management and grants administration expert. She holds a Double MBA in Strategy and International Business from the University of Nairobi, Kenya. Pauline has attended a number of leadership training from various institutions including the Harvard and Stanford Business Schools.
Josephine Musembi, serves as the Company Secretary and Head of Legal at The AECF.
Prior to joining The AECF Josephine was Head of Legal Services at Spire Bank, She brings onboard business focused Legal and company secretarial professional experience of over 10-years and has a track record of hands on experience in legal practice and operations. Her specialization is in areas of Corporate governance, Legal Compliance and Administration, Leadership, Intellectual Property, Data Protection and Company Secretarial Services.
Josephine holds a Bachelor of Law Degree from Pune University, India and a Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law, is a member of the Law Society of Kenya, East Africa Law Society as well as the Institute of Certified Public Secretaries of Kenya. She is an advocate of the High court of Kenya, a Commissioner for Oaths, a Notary Public and a Certified Governance Auditor.
Titus Wambua is the Head of Internal Audit at The AECF, responsible for providing guidance on internal controls, processes and practice. He also helps bring a systematic and disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management and governance processes. Titus has a rich experience working with private and public organizations both locally and internationally.
Prior to joining The AECF, Titus worked with Land O’Lakes International Development where he served as Internal Audit Manager responsible for programmes in Africa and Asia. He has also held various leadership positions at Jhpiego Corporation and Ernst & Young Eastern Africa.
Titus is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA). He holds an MBA in Strategic Management from the University of Nairobi and Bachelor’s degree in Business Management (Accounting & Finance) from Moi University.
Ashley Olson Onyango joins AECF as Sector Team Lead – Agribusiness. Ashley comes to AECF with a strong private sector background and relevant financial and agriculture sector development experience across sub-Saharan Africa.
Prior to joining The AECF, Ashley was a Senior Program Manager for Financial Inclusion with MasterCard Foundation, where she managed several cross-regional programs addressing the challenges of agricultural and rural finance and supporting the development and deployment of digital finance infrastructure and solutions. She was critical in managing the Foundation’s US $50M challenge fund - The Fund for Rural Prosperity (FRP) - leading competition process improvements and shaping the portfolio to maximise the impact of the Fund. Ashley is well versed in the challenges of rural financing and the catalytic role digital finance and the private sector play in transforming rural economies.
Earlier in Ashley’s career, she designed and implemented a multi-million dollar lending portfolio with Root Capital, successfully diversifying the organization’s lending portfolio to include private sector SMEs in domestic food crop value chains across sub-Saharan Africa, which was also later rolled out in Latin America as well. Ashley has also spent time as an independent consultant, working with key players in the industry, including Financial Sector Deepening Africa (FSDA) and AgriExperience, among others.
Ashley has a Bachelor of Science in Business from the University of Minnesota and an MBA from IESE Business School in Spain.
Victor Ndiege is the Sector Team Lead - Renewable Energy and Climate Technologies, responsible for the development and management of the renewable energy and climate investment portfolio, providing strategic focus and resource mobilization.
Prior to The AECF, Victor worked at KPMG - International Development Advisory Services, providing technical expertise in the selection and performance monitoring of renewable energy business and climate smart technologies in East, West and Southern Africa. He has over 13 years’ experience in programme design, development and management, fund raising, fund management, business modelling and assessment, public private partnership frameworks, investment linkage.
Victor holds a degree in Bachelor of Science, Agricultural Economics from Egerton University and a Masters of Business Administration, Strategic Management from Nairobi University.
Martin Rogena Ocharo, is the ICT Manager at The AECF responsible for all ICT infrastructure and enterprise systems.
Prior to The AECF, Martin worked at KickStart International a social enterprise with its business operations spread across Africa and fundraising unit in the United States of America. He was instrumental in setting up the ICT infrastructure, global virtual private network, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, Client Relationship Management (CRM) system and Performance Management system. As part of ensuring operational efficiency, Martin championed the development of several customized integrated business support systems as well as business intelligence tools. He brings on board 16 years’ of technical expertise and knowledge of the ICT industry. He is passionate about ICT and continually keeps abreast with the new emerging technologies, policies, standards and procedures that guide the industry.
Martin holds a Bachelors Degree in Mathematics from the University of Nairobi, a Diploma in management of Information systems (IMIS UK), a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) and Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist.
