Daphine Kemunto-Korir
Head of Legal and Company Secretary
Daphine Kemunto-Korir is the Head of Legal & Company Secretary, at the AECF. She defines the Legal Department’s direction towards attainment of AECF’s strategic goals. Daphine has over 14 years experience in leading and developing successful legal teams and is responsible for corporate governance, legal and compliance, and environmental and social governance.
Prior to joining the AECF, she served as the Head of Legal and Compliance at Deloitte East Africa. Before this, she served in the company secretarial department of Deloitte, where she provided outsourced corporate governance and company secretarial advisory services to both public and private entities in Kenya while ensuring implementation of good corporate governance practices and compliance with laws and regulations. During her time at Deloitte, she set up the Legal Department for East Africa and oversaw the establishment and reorganization of entities within the region.
Daphine holds a Bachelor of Law (LL. B) Degree from Moi University, a post-Graduate Diploma in Law from Kenya School of Law, is a Certified Company Secretary (CPS-Kenya) and is working towards attainment of her Masters in Law at the University of Nairobi. She is a member of the Law Society of Kenya (LSK), Institute of Certified Public Secretaries of Kenya (ICPSK) as well as the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
